Planning Board Working Group plans walkability stakeholder meetings

A Planning Board Working Group planned stakeholder meetings on town center walkability improvements.

Planning Board · Meeting of January 29, 2026

CHILMARK — A Planning Board Working Group planned stakeholder meetings on town center walkability improvements. Planning Board members Ann Wallace, Catherine Thompson, and Janet Weidner, along with attendee Marie Larsen, discussed the engagement strategy with input from Adam Turner of the Martha's Vineyard Commission, who will help secure resources including a traffic planner. The group identified potential stakeholder categories: school, library, and community center representatives; public safety officials; businesses; and residents.

Data from the meetings will feed a town survey on walkability, with the Working Group reconvening February 3 to finalize stakeholder groups and meeting approaches.
