CHILMARK — Planning Board Working Group discussed low-cost town center walkability improvements. Members Ann Wallace, Catherine Thompson, and Janet Weidner, meeting with residents Marie Larsen and Patty Egan, explored three quick projects within town control: adding a cone to the State Road crosswalk near Chilmark Store, widening the Library parking lot, and redirecting pedestrians to stone slabs away from the Post Office lot. The group will present findings to the Select Board on August 18 and reconvenes August 19 with Martha's Vineyard Commission staff to refine next steps.
