Planning Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Chilmark Planning Board adopted the 2025 Housing Production Plan and voted unanimously to send it to the Select Board with a recommendation for adoption, formalizing the town's affordable housing strategy. With Chairperson Rich Osnoss absent, Peter Cook was appointed interim Chairperson and presided. The plan, prepared jointly with the Housing Committee, codifies Chilmark-specific housing initiatives and qualifies the town for state housing opportunities.

On accessory dwelling units, the board directed Hugh Weisman to return with a final ADU bylaw proposal at the next meeting for a vote before public hearings before the Select Board. The Town Center Walking Paths Working Group requested the board seek a pause on walkway and lighting installation pending the group's full review.
