CHILMARK — The Chilmark Human Resources Board unanimously approved a one-time payout to three part-time library employees. The amount was calculated by Ruth Konigsberg. The compensation addressed concerns about unclear bylaw language or unequal application regarding library holiday pay.
The board requested that Konigsberg appear at town meeting to explain the bylaw amendment needed to authorize the payout. If the amendment failed to pass, the board indicated it would meet after town meeting to discuss an alternative equalization approach. Affected employees would need to sign an indemnification release to accept the payout.
