Human Resources Board · Meeting of January 14, 2026

Chilmark HR Board unanimously approved an amended Holiday 9.0 Bylaw addressing part-time worker holiday pay. Chair Donald Leopold offered edits; the board removed language on collective bargaining. Ruth Konigsberg presented calculations showing that part-time workers would lose $11,285 in holiday wages under the change.

The board agreed a one-time payout was the fairest compensation approach, rejected spreading payments over time (costlier due to step increases and COLAs), and scheduled a follow-up meeting to finalize language and vote.
