Housing Committee · Meeting of April 16, 2026

Chilmark's Housing Committee formed a subcommittee to review its Housing Production Plan ahead of a Select Board adoption discussion. Committee members Ann Wallace, Jonah Maidoff and Marie Larsen volunteered to serve. The committee discussed multiple affordable housing initiatives, including the Lease to Locals pilot program, which had housed 11 people and spent approximately $72,000 of its $86,000 budget, and a proposal to request an additional $120,000 from the Molly Flender Affordable Housing Trust Fund for year 2.

The committee also discussed pursuing two Middle Line Road rental units on the state's Subsidized Housing Inventory, a move requiring rent restrictions that would provide safe harbor from 40B applications for two years.
