Housing Committee approves FY2027 rental assistance rents
Chilmark Housing Committee voted to approve FY2027 rental assistance rents.
Housing Committee · Meeting of June 24, 2026
Chilmark Housing Committee voted to approve FY2027 rental assistance rents. Administrator Alison Kisselgof presented updated rent maximums after the committee discovered that the county housing authority follows federal HUD guidelines rather than the 3% annual increase the committee had previously assumed. The committee voted unanimously to accept the rents, which now include utilities, and agreed to raise them at a higher percentage in future years to align with county housing authority levels.
The committee also discussed pursuing a demolition delay bylaw and noted that a county Seasonal Communities grant may reimburse $16,000 to $17,000 for the Lease to Locals program.
