Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 16, 2026

CHILMARK — Conservation Commission OKs three projects with conditions. Chair Sarah Khedouri and the Chilmark Conservation Commission voted unanimously on April 16 to approve environmental permits for an archaeological investigation at Signal Hill Lane on a vacant lot within 100 feet of an isolated wetland, requiring revised site plans and erosion control conditions; a residential renovation and 244-square-foot addition at Eliot Avenue within 100 feet of a coastal bank, with requirements for landscaping plans and smallest-practicable construction equipment; and amendments to a pool and dwelling project at State Road including alternative energy equipment and equipment vault relocation. The commission continued a contentious shore protection hearing at Greenhouse Lane to May 21, requesting further detail on slope stability and managed retreat plans.
