CHILMARK — Conservation Commission approved seven environmental projects at its August 20 meeting while postponing a vote on a coastal bank stabilization proposal. The Commission approved amended Notices of Intent for residential work near wetlands and coastal banks, including a recreation room addition at 20 Eliot Avenue with basement floor lowering, and accepted vegetation plans for septic system mitigation at 57 Menemsha Crossroad with required annual reporting beginning August 2027. In separate action, the Commission continued a controversial proposal for fiber roll shore protection and helical piles at 18 Greenhouse Lane, determining that applicant Paul Darrow had not provided sufficient engineering information to demonstrate the work would not harm the eroding Coastal Bank.
