Finance Advisory Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026
Chilmark FinCom heard FY27 departmental budgets with an 8.66 percent proposed increase. Finance Committee Chair Linda Coutinho and Select Board Chair Marie Larsen co-chaired the February 10 joint hearing; Martha's Vineyard Commission Director Adam Turner attributed his budget rise to ongoing litigation and announced his retirement effective June 28, 2026. Highway Superintendent Aaron Brown sought an 85,000 dollar dump truck with plow, noting Chilmark is the only town without one, while Finance Committee member Keith Fenner said a 332,000 dollar cut would match last year's 6.3 percent increase.
The committees did not vote on the budget.
