Cemetery Commission · Meeting of February 9, 2026
CHILMARK — Cemetery Commission voted unanimously to grant a variance for a trust-held burial plot. The commission approved an application from the C. Doudna trust, whose property transferred to trust ownership within the past year but had been held since 1985; Chair Judie Flanders said the transfer was purely technical.
The commission discussed a cemetery budget increase of 25 percent, exceeding the town's 2 percent guideline and requiring special submission, and submitted three budget requests including a one-hour-per-week increase in stipend for Superintendent Susan Rust and a warrant article to transfer funds from cemetery plot sales.
