Human Resources Board · Meeting of March 16, 2026

CHILMARK — Human Resources Board approved an amended Holiday Bylaw 9.0 on a 3-1 vote, clarifying pay distinctions for employees called to work outside their regular schedules. Legal Counsel Jack Collins, whose suggested edit drove the change, noted that under prevailing practice called-in employees do not receive both day's pay and time and a half, and that public safety employees cannot refuse such assignments. The Board also rescheduled discussion of an Animals in the Workplace policy after Collins submitted a newly written version the day of the meeting that members had not had time to review against their previously approved draft.
